Public Transport in Lake Atitlan

There are several ways to travel around Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, including:

Boat: There are regular boat services that operate between the towns and villages around the lake, making it easy to explore different areas. Prices vary depending on the distance and duration of the trip, but on average, a one-way trip could cost around Q15 to Q30 (about £1.50 to £3). These tend to stop operating publicly after 5pm.

Tuk-tuk: Tuk-tuks are a popular and inexpensive way to get around the lake, especially for short trips. Prices vary depending on distance, but on average, a one-way trip could cost around Q20 to Q40 (about £2 to £4).

Pick-ups: Pick-ups are a cheaper inter-village form of transport in comparison to Tuk-tuks. They can often get quite full of people and you need to stand in the back. Prices vary depending on distance, but on average, a one-way trip from village to village would cost Q10 (£1)
